Summary

We present our treatment plan for patients suffering from Anorexia nervosa (AN). The treatment plan uses an integration of paediatric and psychotherapeutical therapy as psychosomatic approach. In defining the eating problem as a disorder of weight gain we administer a behavioral therapy which demands a weight gain of 100 grams per day. If the patient fails to gain weight sufficiently she stays in bed; if she is not able to gain weight with this restriction a nasogastral tube is used. Individual psychotherapy is offered and systemic family therapy is recommended.
Out-patient follow up therapy is lead by a strict weight control in our department and centers on family and individual psychotherapy.
